The BEEP app is a digital image of your bees, hives and apiaries. In this article you find more information on the hives. Note: you need to assign the hive to an apiary, read here how to create an apiary.




New hive

To create a new hive, go to the + in the top middle of the screen and select 'New hive'.


You are led to a new hive configuration screen. Fill in the name of the hive, hive configuration and queen details. 



New inspection

When you click on the three dots in the top right corner of your hive in your home screen, you get a menu for a new inspection, view inspection, edit hive, edit queen and remove hive.



Click on 'new inspection' to enter a new inspection for this hive. To save a new inspection, fill in the needed information:

  • Select the apiary
  • Select the hive(s)
  • Add date of inspection
  • Select the checklist (if you work with a research, make sure you use the right checklist)
  • Fill in your observations and/or actions
  • Make notes (optional)
  • Set a notification date with short note (optional)


Click on 'save' in the top right corner to save the inspection. 


View inspections

When you click on the three dots in the top right corner of your hive in your home screen, you get a menu for a new inspection, view inspection, edit hive, edit queen and remove hive.



Click on 'view inspection' to go to the overview of the inspections for this specific hive, e.g.:


Edit hive

When you click on the three dots in the top right corner of your hive in your home screen, you get a menu for a new inspection, view inspection, edit hive, edit queen and remove hive.



  • Hive name
  • Assign to (other) apiary
  • Decide on place at the apiary (hive order)
  • Hive configuration


Click on 'save' in the top right corner to save the hive. 



Edit queen

When you click on the three dots in the top right corner of your hive in your home screen, you get a menu for a new inspection, view inspection, edit hive, edit queen and remove hive.


Edit the queen details like name, race, birth date, notes, clipped, fertilized and marked. Click on 'save' in the top right corner to save the changes.



Remove hive

When you click on the three dots in the top right corner of your hive in your home screen, you get a menu for a new inspection, view inspection, edit hive, edit queen and remove hive.



Click on 'remove hive', before you give the final 'ok' you will get a warning screen.
