In order to have correct weight measurements, perform a weight calibration procedure at least every year. You can quickly check the current calibration by the following test:

  1. Take 2 objects of known weight to the Mini Apiary (i.e. a filled bottle of 1.5L water + a pack of 12.5 kg of Apifonda).

  2. Wake up the BEEP base bluetooth with the magnet (next to mic input)

  3. Connect to your BEEP base via the BEEP base app (Android/Apple) on your phone. NB: Make sure you are logged in with the MA manager account credentials.

  4. Go to the ‘Weight’ menu option to see live weight measurements.

  5. Check the current weight value in kg.

  6. One after the other, put the ‘known weight items’ on top of the hive and check if the weight is indeed in/decreasing with the known weight of the object +/- 0.1 kg.

If the above quick test shows weight deviations that are off more than than the indicated 100 grams from the known weight, you should repeat the weight calibration procedure described in How to install your BEEP base - (2 for Android phone) weight calibration, temperature and microphone settings and LoRa connection or How to install your BEEP base - (2 for iPhone) weight calibration, temperature and microphone settings and LoRa connection. We advise to calibrate the BEEP base at least once every year.
